Looking back, looking ahead…

Dear friends and lovers and curious onlookers and all the little ARClings both hither and yon: the trees have shaken off their leaves and we find ourselves huddled a little closer to each other as another year winds down.

Looking back, 2015 proved to be a bit of a banner year for ARC.

* ARC’s hugely popular production of Deirdre Kinahan’s MOMENT garnered a company-record six (SIX!!!) Dora Mavor Moore nominations, including OUTSTANDING PRODUCTION. Congratulations again to ARC Resident Artists Aviva Armour-Ostroff, Nick Blais, Gordon Bolan, Jackie Chau, Deborah Drakeford, Ryan Hollyman, Janet Porter, Andre Sills, Christopher Stanton, Tamara Vuckovic, and Bahareh Yaraghi for their beautiful work and this much-deserved recognition.

* Our 2015 WORLD THEATRE DAY celebrations were another big success. Together with Luke Reece of Obsidian Theatre, and Jivesh Parasram & Owais Lightwalla of Cahoots Theatre Projects, we welcomed Toronto’s world-spanning theatre community and celebrated the uniquely innovative, moving, hilarious, beautiful, and diverse performance scene this great city has to offer. ARC owed the success of the night in large part to the sponsors of the party. Big ups to Big Rock Brewery, Queen Margherita Pizza, Mission Works Ltd, and Eadrey Foods. You made a great night of celebration taste AMAZING.

And again, as ever, a big thank you to The Toronto Arts Council.

As we look forward to 2016, ARC has a few surprises in store for you. Watch this space for news about our next major production, as well as your chance to see a sneak peek of some of what we have waiting in the wings. We can’t wait to make it all official and invite you all along for the ride.

So. A safe and happy holiday season, and all the best for the new year. We’ll see you again in 2016…IMG_3190
