Six weeks before South Africa’s second post-apartheid election in 1999, Gabby Anderson is raped. She is white. He is black. He is a high-ranking party official. She is his personal assistant. Both have sacrificed a lifetime fighting apartheid and injustice in their country. Gabby must now decide whether to go public with the attack or not. If she does, it could cost the governing party the election. To further complicate things, the party sends Gabby’s own ex-husband to persuade her that what her nation needs most is her silence. A landmark in contemporary South African drama, GREEN MAN FLASHING shatters all notions of what it means to seek justice.

This is Toronto’s first chance to hear Mike van Graan’s internationally acclaimed, award-winning piece – as performed by a peerless cast under the incisive direction of Philip Akin (Topdog/Underdog, Ruined).

Can’t wait for this one! See you soon!
