Co-Artistic Producer Position Description

ARC is a diverse and multi-disciplined theatre company that delivers bold and challenging works through a collaborative company of Resident Artists.

ARC is pleased to announce our search for a co-Artistic Producer to jointly lead the company as we move into our third decade. We are seeking a practicing artist/arts manager with passion, a strong work ethic and a love of creating theatre. This is a shared, part-time position. Work demands will vary over the year in response to planned company activities, and the position is designed to allow for the pursuit of other projects, both within and outside of ARC.

As co-Artistic Producer, you will work alongside Deborah Drakeford in an equal partnership as you learn the job together. As a team, you and Deborah will engage collaboratively with the Resident Artists and the Board to develop and deliver a compelling program of work that sustains and furthers the artistic vision of ARC.

There are four main branches to the work of the co-Artistic Producers:

ARTISTIC
In concert with the Resident Artists, the co-APs will actively seek out a diverse team to further develop ARC’s resident company. They will conceive and implement ARC’s artistic vision with an emphasis on delivering exceptional work in collaboration with the company and with broad engagement of the community.

STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
The co-APs will oversee all aspects of company planning, programming, fundraising, budgeting, grant proposals, board development, and community outreach. The co-APs will report to the Board on a regular basis.

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MARKETING
The co-APs will commit to ongoing relationship building and maintaining visibility and engagement of ARC with our audiences and in the broader community.

FUNDING AND FUNDRAISING
The co-APs will seek out ongoing support, and understand and commit to the importance of revenue generation to support the artistic growth of ARC.

Deborah is very collaborative by nature, and seeks out a partner who exhibits trust, integrity and transparency, and with whom open and respectful discussions can happen as together they dream, conceive, create, and implement an exceptional program of work in concert with the Resident Artists, together writing ARC’s next chapter as they enter their 21st season.

At ARC, we celebrate, support, and thrive on diversity, and we are striving to create an inclusive environment for our resident team, our audience, and our communities that welcomes and celebrates different voices, experiences and identities. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills to further our vision. With this in mind, we especially encourage applications from candidates with personal or professional experience in equity, diversity and inclusion who are interested in partnering with Deborah Drakeford, and willing to learn in this role alongside her.

Interested parties may submit an application with resume and introductory letter to deb@arcstage.com and mark.mullaly@me.com.

Applications are requested no later than 31 October 2020. We hope to conduct interviews with short-list candidates early in November.
